My 84 year-old grandmother wears great jewelry. As soon as I received this picture in the mail, I knew that I had to scan it and send it to my friend Molly who is a huge admirer of the large, showy pieces that my grandmother wears on a regular basis.
I didn't inherit the grandma gene when it comes to jewelry. This weekend, we were at Jason's mom's house and I wore the tinyest necklace with a diamond star on it. "Is that a necklace you're wearing, Jen?" she exclaimed ... and then she followed up with "Of course you're not wearing earrings with that ... that would be too much, right?" She was telling the truth. I am really lame at wearing very much jewelry.
Grandma bought this necklace a few months ago at the Los Angeles County Fair. Most of us would have no idea what to do with a piece of jewelry that large, but on grandma, it looks perfect.
